We all know that London is a world city – the UK’s economic powerhouse, financial centre and prime terrorist target. There are currently around 7.5 million Londoners (however, in 1939 there was London’s peak in population terms with 8.6 million people living here)at present London is a city of extremes and diversity: almost 2/3rds come from non-white ethnic minority groups (95% of those moving to London since 1995 not being born in the UK) and some inner city areas over half of the children are living below the poverty line…
